Tell Us Your Good Deed

Charity starts at home. We tend to forget how much our wives do for us, and sacrifices they make as a woman. Started by making my wife breakfast in bed. One small good deed goes a long way. On a busy traffic day, if someone is struggling to merge into traffic, I either create a little space or let the person go. I believe in karma, what goes around comes around. The guy I help will help someone else, and one day someone will be generous enough to let me through. Respect and help elders. Talk to them. They have enough stories and experiences to tell but some times no one to talk to.

Why are you participating?

Because even if one person is better today thinking about things I said, I made a whole lot of difference in this world.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

At my University we have a club dedicated to habitat for humanity and on spring break, 11 students including myself were selected to go down to New Orleans to volunteer and help build a home for two well deserving families.

Why are you participating?

I believe labels are often used against us and lead to a lot of intolerance and hate. Any moment where I am able to show that labels are damaging and that they are only used to oversimplify humans I'm willing. Though labels are just words, they somehow hold a large amount of power.

Tell Us Your Good Deed

I volunteer at the University of Massachusetts Medical school in the infusion center. I serve food to patients going through chemo treatment and other chronically ill patients that need to be infused. I have found this very rewarding more than my other paid jobs in a sense that I am able to put a smile on someone’s face by offering them a can of gingerale or cracker.

Why are you participating?

We are all born to believe in stereotypes that society has set for certain groups of people who may look different from us. I find pleasure in being apart of this project that shows people can fill many other labels aside the stereotypes.
