The No Evil Project's mission is to show that people aren't defined by their labels. Through photographs of a variety of people posing as the three wise monkeys, "See No Evil", "Hear No Evil" and "Speak No Evil", along with three labels and a good deed, we take impersonal labels that may have negative stereotypes, and show real people behind them that are improving the community. Doing so in a fun and informal way allows people to be more comfortable talking about traditionally uncomfortable or taboo topics like race, religion, politics, and sexuality to hopefully change some misconceptions or find common ground.

The No Evil Project began on New Year's Day 2011 in Worcester, MA USA by Troy B. Thompson. The concept was in response to media focus on conflict regarding politics, religion, race, and sexuality.

Originally intended to involve only a few diverse people, the scope of the project quickly grew through word of mouth, leading to a public photo booth at Worcester's stART on the Street art festival in the fall of 2011 and the opportunity of a large scale year long exhibit at the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts. Since that time, the project has been invited to photograph people at public and private events, and work with youth programs to address self identity and bullying and colleges and businesses as team building and diversity awareness.
