I was the first to respond when a fellow writer had a heart attack at a convention and helped coordinate his care of CPR until EMS responded - he had a full recovery after his heart stopped for almost three minutes.
Why are you participating?: 

We all need to stand up against evil.

I help students, families, staff in the organizations, groups I’m part of and my community feel seen, valued and included.
Why are you participating?: 

Labels prevent people from seeing a multi-racial Puerto Rican person like me as being part of multiple communities.

I volunteer with a youth arts program called the Trenton Youth Arts program as a dance coach.
Why are you participating?: 

Knowing oneself is very important to me and I think it's key that we are able to develop an understanding of who we want to be without the pressure of labels.
