Shanghai
China
There was an old guy on the street that said hi to me in Chinese, so I stopped to say hello because "你好" is not something you usually hear come out of an old white guy's mouth. Turns out he just wanted to share the stories of his travels with someone. Boy were they some stories to share.
I think it's important for Americans to ask themselves why they are labeled by others, how they are labeled, and why they label others what they label them. It's about conversation surrounding the right questions.
