I've raised eight hundred dollars for the homeless and children with cancer.
Through Soldiers' Angels, I write one letter a week to a currently deployed soldier. I hope that my little note lets them know that there are people in the States who care about them and appreciate the sacrifices that they are making for our country.
Everyone is defined by stereotypes given to them by strangers, or by themselves and it hinders us from embracing and loving the unique person we are. We should love ourselves for who we are - and who we want to be, not be confined by what the world thinks we are just based on how we look.

I always try to do things for my friends to make their lives a little better, whether it's bringing them coffee in the morning after a long night or getting them off campus to take a break. It makes me sad to see others around me sad and I always try my best to cheer them up.
As a Resident Assistant, I work with a lot of different people all the time. I see diversity as nothing to do with the color of your skin, but more about how your past experiences come together to make you unique.

I painted a chair for a charity auction. I have also done charity walks and runs.
This site was suggested to me after I carved a set of rubber stamps depicting "See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil." I think it is a great message to spread.

I volunteer for the Susan G. Coleman breast cancer walk every year, so in the future no one will have to watch a loved one suffer.

I have volunteered at my local hospital since I was a Freshman in high school. While I don't volunteer as often as I did in the past, my contribution to the hospital makes me feel like I've made a difference in the community and improving the lives of those in need.
There is so many prejudices and preconceived notions that people make about others subconsciously, without even getting to know the person.
