Tell Us Your Good Deed

While studying abroad I was fortunate enough to teach children a shanty-town, the children who needed it the most. It was amazing to teach these children with the minimal resources that we had, and seeing how appreciative they were. They are the children who need to be given the building blocks to make the most out of their future, and I was able to help teach these children. It was the greatest deed that I have been able to do to this date.

Why are you participating?

Labels are not worth having, it makes people feel trapped in a box when everyone should be given the courage to break out of the mold and bend the lines to be whatever it is that they want to be.

I try my best to be there for my close friends and family in hard situations. I often make it my goal to make them smile, laugh and help them forget about what they are going through (even if it's for a brief moment). I make it a point to be very optimistic and try to ensure others that tomorrow is a new day and, if things are rough, it will pass and get better.

Why are you participating?

Everyone has good in them and everyone is different. I'm proud to live in such a diverse world. HATE and labels make for such wasted energy. Peoples' differences are beautiful and encouraging.

I try to always treat everyone as if they were a dear loved ones. If I can, I want everyone to feel truly seen and truly loved.

I think this is a great idea. If more people could see all the good there is in people than maybe we would have more good in the world.

When I am walking around, I always try to make eye contact with people and smile. You never know who is having a bad day and a friendly smile is always nice to see.

Why are you participating?

I am participating because I feel it is important to recognize that no matter what social groups you belong to or self-identify with, we all are capable of doing good.
