I am participating for I have lived for quite sometime under stereotypical harassments due to the fact that I am poor, that I am multi-racial, and even told that I am EVIL. However I know who I am with great definition and my race does not define me, my actions do.

I worked with two other teachers to coordinate a homeroom/community action project. We collected towels for veterans in the community.
As an art teacher, I think this is a good, fun, interesting project to be involved in. It's great that it's open to students and teachers/staff alike.
I welcome everyone into my home with love, respect and joy. Once you walk in my door - you are family.
I help everyone and anyone I see that needs help and or wants it.
I think everyone has good within themselves, they just need to see it.

I volunteer and foster cats / kittens. Last year I fostered 7 dogs. I get to fall in love 20+ times a day and make a homeless / abandoned / abused animal feel like a king or queen in my home! The love I receive back is amazing, especially at night when they are all sleeping on me! They make me feel so good!
Sometimes I can't watch the news because there seems to be so much bad stuff going on and I would like to believe their is more good than evil!!

I believe that labels promote misunderstanding and fear. Since this project is all about getting rid of labels, I'm all for it.
