I've been an intern / volunteer for the Bruce Wells Upward Bound working with low income and first generation students who want to go to college. I'm a tutor and mentor.

At my martial arts school, the black belts (and other upper belts) are encouraged to be extra kind to the lower belts, especially the newest students. We help show them around the school, give them help outside of class, etc. I try to often go beyond and be nicer to the new students, along with the other higher ranked students.
Why are you participating?
I liked the positive message of the project, that anyone can do good, no matter their stereotype. I felt this was something I wanted to participate in.
