Why are you participating?

This is a very cool project. I'm the Director of Community Outreach for a non-profit that provides services to individuals with disabilities. People are so often labeled by their disability. It is so refreshing to see someone who cares enough to reach out to try and change that!

I love people and connecting with people is what gives life meaning. Labels can be limiting and judgmental or reflections of self-image and worth—it’s all how we use them.

I try to connect to people who seem alone in public situations. Often this is as simple as eye contact and a smile on the street, or a quick "hello".
